11 December 2019
As we approach the end of 2019, which has been a successful year for us both (in very unexpected ways), we have renewed our Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) 10 year multiple entry social visit pass for a further 10 year period. The travel to effect this renewal co-incided with a brief visit to both Ipoh & KL. A few photos are given in our pictures page.
We wish you a Merry Christmas & send you & yours our very best wishes for 2020.
An update to our computers means we are not able to use our previous web creation software, so we are trying out Mobirise to see if it will do what we need, & to work in with all that we have created between 2005 & July 2019. It's taking a while to sort things out, so if you are looking for our older pages, check the links at the bottom of this page.
We have had more family visitors over, including a big surprise for them.
Carol has completed another 1/2 marathon, improving on last years time, & has also officially been placed 2nd in her age group in Spartan S E Asia.

The year is passing us by a little too quickly, & the wet season is still proving elusive.
Our big news is that Carol came 2nd in her age group at the recent Spartan OCR near Ipoh: a very personal achievement, with the comfort zone going awol for a while. Read about it!
Our next challenge isn't physical: we have to start collating paperwork so that we can apply to renew our visas in September. The past 10 years has been very full & has sped by. It's a necessary task that we have to complete in a timely manner in order to continue living here.
Enjoy your summer, or winter, stay safe.
Following on from 2 recent sets of visitors, we have settled back into 'life as normal' or as normal as it is for us.
George has resumed gym visits & Carol is in training for a Spartan Super obstacle course race in July, taking every opportunity to push herself - including competing in & taking 3rd place in the annual rucksack challenge.

We have recently enjoyed spending time here & in KL with our first visitors of the year. It was refreshing to have independent travelers with us while we shared our travels & experiences with them.
The rainy season is trying to start: we have had a few good tropical thunder storms, but on the whole it is still dry, hotter & humid. It is very uncomfortable, even with our fans & air conditioning in use.
We have welcomed in the Year of the Pig, along with many many others for this lunar new year.
Our 1st visitors of the year arrive soon & we are looking forward to spending time in KL with them before making our way north to Penang.
The weather is typical of the time of year: hot & dry. Hay fever season for us both.

January has been a mixed bag month for us: both of our 'injuries' have needed various treatments, but as of today we are back on form whether at the gym & bootcamp, or our running & walking.
The weather just now is 'as normal' for the time of year: very very hot with no/little rain, as it always seems to be coming up to Chinese New Year. That said, we know many of our family & friends are struggling with the very wintery weather crossing the UK, Europe & more, while those south of the equator are sizzling in temperatures in excess of ours.
Not quite Spring, but time for a spring clean - of these web pages. The accumulation of our life & travels since September 2005 amounts to a lot of information & pictures. Some duplication, some obsolete, so a clear out detox was needed. Some pages have been incorporated in Our World or Our Travels, but much has been permanently removed.
We personally had a detox at the start of December - 'flu & 'something he ate' for George, & food poisoning for Carol (both food problems occurred while we were in Langkawi - same resort where we & friends had food issues a few years ago). Weight has been regained. Not often we say that!
Wishing you a happy, healthy & peaceful 2019.
